Why Do We Do This?

All net proceeds from this event directly benefit Shriners Hospital for Children programs in Boston and Springfield Mass. Shriners Hospitals for Children® is a health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals.  Children up to age 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care and receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the patient’s’ ability to pay. Event Details & Directions

The 8th Annual Kora Shriners Kare for Kids Ride-In and BBQ Competition will be August 21-23th, 2020, at the Ossipee Valley Fairgrounds in Hiram, Maine.

KCBS BBQ and SCA Steak Grilling Competition with over $8,000 in cash and prizes. BBQ competitors from across the country and Canada will be here to compete with some of the best BBQ Pitmasters around.

Directions:

Ossipee Valley Fair is located at 291 South Hiram Road in South Hiram, Maine – just 45 minutes west of Portland.

From the Portland area, take Route 25 west to Cornish. Bear right on the South Hiram Road at Moulton Lumber Company. The fairgrounds are 2 miles from Route 25 on the South Hiram Road.

From New Hampshire, take Route 25 east to the village of Kezar Falls. Just before the bridge, turn left on Bridge Street – then right on Main Street (which becomes South Hiram Road at the town line).

The fairgrounds are just 2 miles from Route 25 from either direction. See you there!

BBQ Judging Class

If you are interested in becoming an Official KCBS Certified Barbeque Judge a class is being held August 22, 2020 at the Ossipee Valley Campgrounds in Hiram, ME. Please complete the online registration below or you may download the application here to mail your registration and payment.

Camping Info & Registration

  1. FEES: Camping sites are $30 per night.  Rental is from Thursday to Sunday.  All fees must be paid prior to moving camper / tent onto site.

  2. Water and electricity are provided at each campsite. 30amp plug-in (limited number of  50amp sites – first come, first serve)

  3. DUMPING STATION: There is a dumping station at the rear of the fairgrounds. Donation only. All waste water must be held in your holding tank.  NO WASTE WATER OR MATTER IS TO BE DUMPED ONTO THE GROUNDS.

  4. WRISTBANDS will be provided to all adults camping and should be worn throughout the event.

  5. Camper Trailers will be permitted to set up Thursday night and must be removed by Sunday evening – unless other arrangements are made.

  6. CAMPING ATTENDANTS will assist you with locating your campsite and help guide you into the site.

  7. CAMPING RULES: General campground rules, courtesies and quiet time hours should be followed.

  8. ROADWAYS AND FIRE LANES MUST BE KEPT OPEN AT ALL TIMES FOR EMERGENCY AND SECURITY VEHICLES.

  9. PERSONAL ALCOHOL: Due to state regulations, personal alcohol is not permitted in the event common area on Saturday at all times.  All personal alcohol must remain in the camping area during Saturday’s event. There will be an alcohol vendor in the common area.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Motorcycle & ATV Ride Registrations

Motorcycle Ride Information and Registration

 

  1. FEES: Motorcycle ride is $20.00 per vehicle.  No charge for passengers. Includes event shirt

  2. RIDE: The Motorcycle ride is organized and led by the Masonic Widows Sons Grand Chapter of Maine. Please ride safe and observe all riding rules of the road. The ride will depart after the opening ceremony approximately 10:00 AM and return to the event site at approximately 1:00 PM.

  3. PRE-REGISTRATION PACKET: There will be a packet for all pre-registered guests at the registration table with event shirt, wrist band, and other information.

  4. PERSONAL ALCOHOL: Drinking alcohol is not permitted while on the ride.  There will be an alcohol vendor in the common area at the event site after the ride.  Thank you for your cooperation.

  1. FEES: ATV ride is $20.00 per vehicle.  No charge for passengers. Includes event shirt

  2. RIDE: The ATV ride is organized and led by the Kora Shriners ATV club. Please ride safe and be considerate of private properties that we will be riding on. The ride will depart after the opening ceremony approximately 10:00 AM and return to the event site at approximately 1:00 PM.

  3. PRE-REGISTRATION PACKET: There will be a packet for all pre-registered guests at the registration table with event shirt, wrist band, map and other information.

  4. PERSONAL ALCOHOL: Drinking personal alcohol is not permitted while on the ride.  There will be an alcohol vendor in the common area at the event site after the ride.  Thank you for your cooperation.
