Ben grew up in New Gloucester and now resides in Wales with his wife, Cassidy, and their son, Gabriel. He attended Thomas College in Waterville, Maine, graduating with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. There he met his wife, Cassidy. During the day, Ben is a Public Insurance Adjuster and the owner of Breakwater Public Adjusting LLC in Auburn.

Ben is a Senior DeMolay. He was a member of the New Marblehead Chapter and the Knights of the Sun, serving as Master Councilor of both. He was State Master Councilor for the Maine DeMolay Association and Past State Scribe. Ben was elected the Region One Cabinet member for DeMolay International and served as the Congress Parliamentarian. He was also the State Dad for Maine DeMolay and is a current Advisor. He is a Past President of the DeMolay Pine Tree Youth Foundation.

Ben is a fourth-generation Maine Mason and is a Past Master of Cumberland Lodge in New Gloucester. He is also a member of Acacia Lodge in Durham and Cornerstone in Portland. He is a Past Grand Steward and a Past Senior Grand Warden, having served in 2021-22. He is currently a trustee of the Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation.

Ben joined the Shrine in 2011. He joined the Mini Racers for a couple of years before joining the Kora Highlanders Pipe and Drum Corps as a bagpiper. He enjoys teaching new pipers when they join the unit. He is also a member of the Kora DeMolay Council. Ben was appointed to Outer Guard by Ill. Brent Tanguay in 2021.

Ben is a member of the Scottish Rite, where he has served as Past Sovereign Prince of the Valley of the Androscoggin. As well as a Past Thrice Potent Master of Lewiston Lodge of Perfection. He is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award and was coronated a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2023.

During Ben’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, hanging out by a campfire, looking for satellites on clear nights, and taking flights in his hot-air balloon.
