Barry Irish

Assistant Rabban

A lifelong resident of Maine, Barry Irish grew up in the town of Gorham, the son of a self- employed carpenter. While growing up Barry joined his father building and remodeling homes in the greater Portland area, while school was not in session. After graduating Gorham High School, Barry attended Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute, and graduated from the Architectural & Civil Engineering program. Barry then earned an Associate degree from the University of Maine at Augusta in the Architectural & Construction Technology program. Barry then worked several years for Cimino Construction Company, a commercial building contractor, building a school, hotel, auto dealership, hardware distributors warehouse, and other smaller projects. About this time Barry’s father had suffered several heart attacks and was forced to retire. Barry decided to carry on his father’s business building and remodeling homes. After a couple years Barry bought a window company from the widow of the former owner, which sold, serviced and installed windows and doors from several distributors. He named the business Windows Plus and opened a storefront in South Windham. Barry operated both businesses for over forty years.
